Everywhere. All over the city. On the back of big buildings and small. Near railway stations and in the seedy backlots. I read somewhere that there is a waiting process for an artist to get his design approved for graffiti purposes in Philly. Its a sight to behold!
On a different note, What was your take on the movie 'Spanglish'? I thought it was different and the movie left me thinking....... about Paz Vega obviously :-)
Sudarshan Spanglish was a definite guilty pleasure. I liked the movie and the interesting thing was that you could have replaced Paz Vega and the whole Mexican thing with an Indian milieu and it would have worked just as fine.
And yes, two thumbs way up for Paz Vega. I saw her movie "Sex and Lucia" a long time back and she was smoking hot in it. She rocks!
I did not see so much when I used to live and study there. It has been ages since I have visited Philly but I keep reading and hearing stories of how the city has been revitalized with a dip in crime and all that.
Pretty colorful. I think these are all to attract some attention (business-wise and tourism-wise) to the City. Chicago had something like this a couple of years back with statues of cows all over downtown.
Thennavan Crime is definitely on the fall these days. Some new measures like turning in one's gun and so on have apparently made a change for the better in the crime infested center city.
Anand Philly is called the graffiti capital of the world and it has been a tourist and cultural attraction for a few decades now.
Narayanan Many of these graffiti have relegious, social and cultural implications that take time to understand. And yes, Philly is also famous for its hoagies and Philly cheese steaks.
